Lately I’ve been juggling a full-time job with some freelance work in the evenings, and honestly it’s catching up with me. I start off motivated, but by the middle of the week I feel completely drained. I try to push through, but then I end up burned out and not enjoying either job or side projects. I keep hearing that better routines could help, but I don’t know what that should actually look like day to day. Has anyone found a way to avoid burnout without dropping important commitments?

From what I’ve seen, burnout usually creeps in when routines are missing or too rigid. If your system demands perfection, it quickly becomes overwhelming. But when routines are small, repeatable, and forgiving, they keep you steady. Things like short breaks, reflection prompts, or even calming soundscapes can be enough to reset your energy. It’s not about pushing through harder, but about giving yourself consistent ways to recharge. That balance is what helps you keep going without crashing.
